Hawai‘i Island Steel GuitarFestival

Steel Guitar Exhibit, Demonstration, Workshops, and Sales

A combined "Learn To Play" workshop and steel guitar "talk story" was hosted by Alan Akaka with Bobby Ingano and Greg Sardinha, with many workshop guests bringing their own steel guitars to learn playing techniques. The workshop was held adjacent to the steel guitar exhibit which featured many instruments hand-crafted by local luthiers Chris Stewart and Chuck Moore.

Dan Tremblay conducted Hand-on Experienmce for resort guests wanting to learn more about the steel guitar. The Experience also gave resort guests an opportunity to try out the instrument.

The combination Festival Sales and Information table was staffed by Sandy Sardinha and Linda Metzger and featured artists' CDs, publications, and steel guitar supplies. Festival t-shirts were delayed and not available at the festival.
